Is Pitch Black worth the hype? Mega Evolution: Pitch Black releases on July 17, 2026, with Mega Darkrai ex as the flagship Pokémon of the set. The expansion contains more than 115 cards, six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and over 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards featuring special illustrations. Alongside Mega Darkrai ex, the set also introduces cards featuring Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex and Mega Excadrill ex. For collectors, the biggest attraction is not only the return of Mega Evolution, but the darker visual identity of the set and the potential strength of its Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare cards.
